CIRCLE OF LIFE...
I'm not even gonna go into how THE LION KING touched my heart when I was a kid. I'm not even gonna go into how THE LION KING touches my heart even to this day. It's a classic. People will forever cry when Mufasa dies, get chills when Scar sings BE PREPARED, laugh at the jokes of the Hyenas and Timon and Pumbaa, and cheer when Simba roars into the rainy sky at the end.
HEY, BUB...
Haven't drawn Wolverine for a while. And it seems that every time I do, I end up created a new costume for him. Only because I really hate the one he has in the comics. Not much to say about this one here. Michael asked me to do a Wolverine pic, but a really cool money shot wasn't popping in my head... so why not do a battle stance?
Here ya go, Mikey...
WHEN THERE'S TROUBLE YOU KNOW WHO TO CALL...
What child DOESN'T like the Cartoon Network hit American-anime show TEEN TITANS? Comedy, drama, and actions scenes that make you cringe... this was definatley a show that lived up to it's hype.
Ajani's always telling me how Robin is greater than Batman and yadda yadda yadda... personally I don' think he knows what he's talking about, but whatever. The Robin from TEEN TITANS had a slighr anger problem, obsessed over his arch-enemy (just like dear old Dad) and had the coolest fight scenes of the entire cast.
Yes.... Robin is great.
But not greater -_-
I LOVE TOY STORY 3...
I personally believe TOY STORY 3 is right next to INCEPTION as one of my favorite movies of the year. This film (though worthless in 3-D) brought me back. Waaaay back to when I was in Kindergarden... feeling sad when everyone had a Buzz Lightyear action figure when I didn't. Back to a time when I was angry to finally get a Buzz Lightyear and realize that everyone moved on to a Hess Truck (a toy my dad finally bought me freshman year of High School).
Sharing my love for this movie is a good friend of mine, Cyrus LaBoy, whose favorite character would be the Little Green Men. And why not? They only really say one if three phrases in the whole movie and that's just what makes them... ugh... dare I say it? Cute.
HOPEFULLY I FIND USE FOR THIS
This was a character that I created a couple of months ago... she was supposed to be on a Project that I was starting up but it looks like the project is going in another direction so I may or may not use her.
I designed Suan Romano here after Batman: The Animated Series' Harley Quinn, created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Susie was supposed to be a wacky, zany, child-like female superhero with a heart of gold but very unorthodox ways.
Hope I get to use her sometime...

THE CITY OF TOWNSVILLE!!!!!!
I really don't understand why the Powerpuff Girls were such a big hit. I really don't. What's surprising is that just as much guys watched the show as girls did. Huh. Anyway... I try to avoid drawing cartoony-cartoon pictures--round shapes and the like are just NOT my thing. But Juliane demanded it so... eh.
I must say that this pic is waaaaay better than my first attempt at drawing this hit cartoon.
But that's just my opinion.
BATMAN BEYOND
This would be the first pic I've drawn of this guy, wouldn't it? Well, I remember when I was a kid... and I heard that there was gonna be a teenaged Batman TV show. Everyone was psyched. Except me. "A teenaged Batman???? Makes no sense!" So, I didn't watch the show. Then I saw the movie BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER.... and I was hooked. The idea of a teenaged Batman really works when Bruce Wayne is old and someone else has to carry the Mantle of the Bat.
Thanks to the HUB TV station for showing the old animated series... now I get the joy that I ignorantly refused in my childhood =/
NIGHTWING
Been a while since I updated this thing or since I even drew a picture of Nightwing. I was pretty happy when a friend, Thierry, asked me to draw him. Nightwing is one of the coolest characters in the DC Universe, but sometimes he's the most underrated. People don't see the potential he has and the writers themselves don't show it.
So here's to the legacy of Nightwing that has yet to truly be established and here's to Thierry....

SUPERBOY PART 3
Continuing my adoration for Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul's run on Superboy.... in the third issue, Conner teams up with his best friend, Tim (Robin, Red Robin) to help him find Lex Luthor. Their meeting up for the first time takes a different turn as Conner realizes that Tim is punishing himself for the recent "death" of Conner and the even more recent apparent death of Batman.
Here we see that Tim has become like Batman... a brooding character who's borderline obsessing over his mission. It comes apparent that both Conner and Tim are both on missions that others deem as a fool's errand.
Conner wants to prove that Lex Luthor--one-half of his DNA--is capable of doing good...
And Tim wants to prove that Batman--his mentor and adoptive father, who died by the hands of Darkseid in front of countless heroes--is alive...
Thanks to Lawrence for helping me edit this pic.
Hopefully it shows the weight on their shoulders... and bond between them...

SUPERBOY PART 2
Another non-action packed issue of Superboy by Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul that was simply beautiful. Here, Conner (Superboy) reconnects with Cassie (Wonder Girl) and he bares his soul to her. That's all there is to it, basically, and it's wonderful. We get a sense that this is more than just a teenaged fling and that this isn't some mushy, gushy hollow relationship portrayed in the media today.
This is simple.
This is love.
SUPERBOY PART 1
Felt inspired by Geoff Johns writing and Francis Manapul's art in their run on Superboy. I loved it. Every panel of it. It wasn't action packed--and I LOVE an action packed comic book WITH a beautiful story and plot. But this was just a story with VERY little action scenes and I LOVED it. It was so beautifully done. Superboy (Conner Kent) is trying to find himself--coming to terms with both sides of his DNA (Superman and Lex Luthor) and also grabbing hold of those he cares about. He's unsure of the future... but he's gonna charge right into it, because he knows he has the right mind and the right people at his back.
What can I say?
I love it.
FINALLY!!
To recap the title.... FINALLY!! I finally drew a Superman pic that can really be classified as a Superman pic. All the others were just some muscled Joe Schmoe with tighty-reddies and an S slapped on his chest. There was no humbleness. There was no subtle majesty. There was no real Superman.
Here it is.
Here is what I've been trying so long to draw. A picture about Kal-El of Krypton, with this Sun at his back and his duty before him-- Saving lives. Ajani asked for a Superman pic and gave me specific details on what he wanted in it and I said "Screw it. I'm gonna draw the greatest Superman image to ever come out of my head" and I did.
Have not gotten a response yet.... hope the kid likes it.
"TIME TO LIGHT THIS SUCKA UP!"
So, maybe the title took black people back a decade or so... but that line was in my mind all throughout the drawing and coloring of this pic. I'm pretty proud of it. John Stewart is--hands down--the smoothest Green Lantern of all. They're all great, mind you--but something about the way he carries himself--especially in Geoff John's writing--makes him stand out even when he's not the main focal point.
This pic is for Chonn, an old friend from junior high. He asked for GL, I said "which one?", he said "doesn't matter--I don't see race." Cool guy. Cool statement. Cool Lantern. John Stewart.

THE SPIRIT
SLADE
Only actual comic book fans know that this guy's name is actually Deathstroke the Terminator... pretty cool name back then... but since Warner Bros. censorship doesn't like the the word "death" in cartoons... the producers of TEEN TITANS chose "Slade" from his alter ego name... Slade Wilson... and any Teen Titan fan... cartoon or comic book... knows that Slade/Deathstroke... is the coolest of them all....

So... i whipped this out while at my desk at work... and here it is....... NOTE: her legs are a different color than her arms and face b/c she has stockings on....

THE ACTION PACKED ADVENTURE OF MILLION DOLLAR MIMS!!!
This is a character created by me and my Earth Science teacher Mr. Mims. Already wrote the first four issues to this character and will start penciling it as soon as i get some prior art "contracts" off my plate. I also decided to use some of the students in the class as characters in the story.Lawrence, James, and Matthew are just a couple of people that I plan to "comic-ize" and HOPEFULLY this great story gets published one day.
